Here at Artiphon, we like to think that we know a thing or two about musical expression, and when Bosko & Maya Kante reached out to us about pairing the INSTRUMENT 1 with their new wearable talkbox instrument, the ElectroSpit ESX-1, we were immediately smitten. With ElectroSpit, the Grammy award-winning producer and composer & his team seek to breathe new life into the wearables landscape and encourage new forms of music-making. Keep an eye out for ElectroSpit's upcoming Kickstarter campaign, and watch the video above to see how Bay Area funkster Diamond Ortiz uses the INSTRUMENT 1 + ElecroSpit ESX-1 to transport some classic West Coast grooves into the far-flung future. [Update 06/07/18: The ElectroSpit Kickstarter campaign is now live, for all you discerning digi-types!]

Newark's own DJ Sliink aims to bring Jersey Club music to the masses with his unique EDM influence and star-studded collaborations. Signed to Skrillex's OWSLA label and having taken his maximalist productions to the global stage in cities such as London, Paris, and Japan, the anointed "Jersey Club King" continues to hold the crown in 2018's electronic music scene. See how DJ Sliink uses the INSTRUMENT 1 to lay down lush strings over stirring vocal samples on a forthcoming collab featuring Nor Cal artist/producer Zak Leever.

Brooklyn DJ, producer, and art director Rodney Hazard has also been putting down his own brand of earth-quaking beats using the INSTRUMENT 1. Hazard recently used the INSTRUMENT 1 to help take his track "Turbulence" to the next level and elevate his live performance. See how the I1 fits into Rodney's workflow on an unreleased instrumental track in the video above and read more about his creative process below:

"I’m always creating. It’s about growth, and as an artist, I’ve not only found my vibe but continue to evolve in different ways everyday! Using the INSTRUMENT 1 for my production gives me versatility in the studio and on stage. Check me out as I build an unreleased beat from scratch using this dope multi-instrument from Artiphon."

You can follow all of Rodney's various endeavors over on Instagram, Facebook, SoundCloud, and Twitter.

INSTRUMENT 1 all-star Sonny Tu recently stopped by the Artiphon office with traveling troubadours in tow to record a special Drop In Session. Sonny brings his smooth jazz composition "Solitude" to life with the INSTRUMENT 1, strumming airy piano melodies over dreamy violin accompaniment and a buoyant bass line. Skillful finger-work on the drums fills out the piece and provides dynamics via the INSTRUMENT 1's velocity-sensitive fingerboard played here in Pad mode.

Keep up with Sonny and listen to more of his musical stylings over on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.
